14 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in
thy salvation.
15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit thatthey made: in the net which they hid is their own
foot taken.
16 The LORD is known bythe judgment whichhe executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of
his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, andall the nations that forget God.
18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall notperish for
ever.
19 Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20 Put them in fear, O LORD: thatthe nations may know themselves to be butmen. Selah.
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? whyhidest thou thyselfin times of trouble?
2 The wicked in hispride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they
have imagined.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whomthe LORD
abhorreth.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God isnot in all his
thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments arefar above out of his sight: as forall his
enemies, he puffeth at them.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shallnever bein adversity.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue ismischief and vanity.
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the
innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch
the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
10 He croucheth, andhumbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite itwith thy hand: the
poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness tillthou find
none.
16 The LORD isKing for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt
cause thine ear to hear:
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
1 <<To the chief Musician, A Psalmof David.>> In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my
soul, Flee asa bird to your mountain?
2 For, lo, the wicked bend theirbow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they
may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4 The LORD isin his holy temple, the LORD'S throne isin heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids
try, the children of men.
5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall
be
the portion of their cup.
7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

1 <<To the chief Musician upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.>> Help, LORD; for the godly man
ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: withflattering lips andwith a double heart
do they speak.
3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, andthe tongue that speaketh proud things:
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips areour own: who islord over us?
5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I
will set himin safety from him thatpuffeth at him.
6 The words of the LORD arepure words: assilver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven
times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
1 <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever?
how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, havingsorrow in my heart daily? how long shall
mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider andhear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep ofdeath;
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; andthose that trouble me rejoice when I
am moved.
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
1 <<To the chief Musician, A Psalmof David.>> The fool hath said in his heart, There isno God.
They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there isnone that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did
understand, andseek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are alltogether become filthy: there isnone that doeth good, no,
not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people asthey eat bread, and
call not upon the LORD.
5 There were they in great fear: for God isin the generation of the righteous.
6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD ishis refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were comeout of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the
captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, andIsrael shall be glad.
1 <<A Psalm of David.>> LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy
hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He thatbackbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a
reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that
sweareth to his ownhurt, and changeth not.
5 He thatputteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that
doeth these thingsshall never be moved.
1 <<Michtam of David.>> Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou artmy Lord: my goodness extendethnot to thee;
3 Butto the saints that arein the earth, and tothe excellent, in whom isall my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied thathasten afteranother god: their drink offerings of blood
will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The LORD isthe portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night
seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he isat my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see
corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence isfulness of joy; at thy right hand there
are
pleasures for evermore.
1 <<A Prayer of David.>> Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer,
that goethnot out of feigned lips.
2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are
equal.
3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited mein the night; thou hast tried me, andshalt
find nothing; I am purposed thatmy mouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me fromthe paths of the
destroyer.
5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, thatmy footsteps slip not.
6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hearmy
speech.
7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put
their trust in theefrom those that rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, frommy deadly enemies, whocompass me about.
10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the
earth;
12 Like as a lion thatis greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which isthy
sword:
14 From men which arethy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which havetheir portion in
thislife, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave
the rest of their substanceto their babes.
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with
thy likeness.
1 <<To the chief Musician, A Psalmof David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD
the words of this song in the day thatthe LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies,
and from the hand of Saul: And he said,>> I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD ismy rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will
trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, andmy high tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthyto be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his
temple, and my cry came before him, eveninto his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken,
because he was wroth.
8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were
kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness wasunder his feet.
